European Network for Inclusive Dialogue
The European Network for Inclusive Dialogue (ENID) is an innovative initiative aimed at fostering civic engagement and democraticparticipation across the EU, with a focus on empowering youth. ENID addresses key EU strategies, including the European DemocracyAction Plan 2020, the Defense of Democracy Package 2023, and the EU Citizenship Report 2020-2023. By leveraging deliberativepractices, ENID promotes a more inclusive and engaged democratic culture.

Building on the activities of the Intercultural Dialogue Platform and its members in 15 EU countries, ENID aligns with the European
Committee of the Regions’ call for a “cultural shift” toward deliberative democracy tools. Through a "glocalisation" methodology, it
bridges local and European issues, enabling participants to view European challenges locally and contextualize local concerns within
a broader European framework.
ENID emphasizes intersectionality, EU citizenship rights, and inclusive deliberative democracy to engage marginalized groups,
including migrants, disadvantaged communities, and women. This holistic approach inspires young people to actively participate in
civic life, fostering a generation of empowered and responsible citizens.
Promoting intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding, ENID strengthens individuals’ ability to navigate diverse environments,
creating active citizens who respect diversity and uphold shared European values. Its work aligns with Articles 2, 3, and 22-24 of the
TEU and TFEU promote human rights, social inclusion, and democratic participation.
By combining local and European perspectives, ENID supports the development of a more participatory, inclusive, and
interconnected Europe, equipping youth to shape their democratic communities.
